When a bar is 'Biutiful', the new pub in Bucharest by Twins Studio
What’s better, beauty or spontaneity? The Romanian designers of Twins Studio reply with "Biutiful" (spelling mistakes are a must), atypical English pub in the historic center of Bucharest, where the melting pot of cultures and styles meets a beauty made of spontaneity and imperfections.
Characteristics that are also shared by the places that made the history of human sociality, such as the traditional English pub or the Roman tavern. Twins Studio re-elaborates the concept in 3252 square feet with 120 seating places that provide a warm and friendly atmosphere that can welcome cultural events of various types, not only gastronomic.
Though we’re in Romania, "Biutiful" includes not only typical elements of the local culture, but also colorful moose trophies, industrial design elements, copper vats for beer fermentation, luminous camels and ducks that decorate the brick walls purposely looking somewhat worn.
The result, intimate and casual at the same time, owes much of its warm atmosphere to the lighting, provided by yellow-red incandescent lamps, as well as the industrial white and the forests of melted candles.
The whole impression is strengthened by the pastel colors that accompany pieces of vintage furniture as well as of furniture the designers assembled themselves, by the old style of the interior decoration and the presence of whiskey and beer barrels converted into furniture.
The table ware is also informal: the napkins are of paper, there are no placemats, you eat directly on the table. The menu? A fusion of Orient and Occident courtesy of Flavours Food Design.
