Senate Requests Policies To Resolve On-Going ASUU Strike

Senate President David Mark has called on lawmakers to proffer legislative solution that would end the protracted industrial action by university lecturers.
Speaking at the first conference of National and State Assembly Committees on Education in Abuja, Senator Mark who was represented by the senate minority whip, Solomon Ganiyu, noted that the persistent strike actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)have had tremendous impact on the quality of education.
According to him, there is an urgent need to review the university curriculum to make it more entrepreneurial such that graduates can be self-employed.
He therefore called on the two parties and the thirty-six state committees on education to urgently come up with an agreement to resolve the lingering academic dispute.
