'Thor: The Dark World' - Natalie Portman wants answers in new TV spot

The advert sees Natalie Portman's Jane Foster and Chris Hemsworth's Thor having a showdown.

It also reminds viewers of the film's links to Joss Whedon's Avengers.

Alan Taylor's Marvel Studios sequel centres around the ancient threat of Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) and his Dark Elves.

Thor is forced to team up with his treacherous stepbrother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to combat the threat to all reality.

Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Zachary Levi will also feature in the movie.

Hemsworth recently denied that there is a rivalry between Marvel and DC Comics' movie adaptations, claiming that Marvel is "just winning".

Thor: The Dark World will be released on October 30 in the UK, and on November 8 in the US
