Classic Converse get their first makeover in nearly 100 years
Buying your first pair of classic All Stars is a right of passage. For nearly 100 years the same canvas shoe has been worn with a sense of pride by everyone from Kurt Cobain to Michelle Obama.
Until now.
Converse have just launched a new design, which they’re dubbing Chuck Taylor All Star II, and we
The differences are subtle, but they make for a much sleeker shoe with all the iconic features of the original.
New touches include matte eyelets to match the colour of the body, better canvas, a higher sole and the iconic All Star patch will now be embroidered on.
These bad boys will be available in black, red, white and blue in both low-tops and hi-tops.
AND (as if this wasn’t enough to rush out and buy them already) they’ve improved comfort.
The soles have been updated using the same comfy technology Nike uses in its running and basketball shoes, so now we can wear them all day every day.
Plus the lining’s more breathable, there’s better arch support and a non-slip tongue. Perfection.
You’ll be able to grab yourself a pair of the improved Chuck Taylor All Star II from 28/07/15 *jumps for joy
